Pipe Relining Process
Pipe relining is a trenchless method of repairing stormwater pipelines and sewer systems. This technique involves inserting an epoxy resin sleeve within the existing pipeline, which is then sealed in place. Pipe relining can be used to repair damage caused by corrosion, leaks, root intrusion, and other problems. This method is less disruptive than traditional repair methods, and it can often be completed in a shorter timeframe.
The first step is to clear the pipe of any debris or blockages.
Tree roots, mineral build-up, oils, and fat are just a few of the causes of drain pipe blockage. Blockages can also be caused by foreign objects or damage to the pipe system. To unclog a clogged drain line, high pressure, high volume water is sent through the line via hydro jets to clear any blockages.
The relining process begins once we know the precise location and condition of the pipe damage. In accordance with Queensland Government’s Plumbing and Drainage regulations, we use resin lining to repair the pipe from within.
A thin tube with a flexible or semi-rigid lining will be pushed through the pipe. Then, a ready-to-use epoxy resin mixture will be drawn via the liner from a hose to cover the inner surface of your plumbing system. This will result in an even layer of epoxy resin inside your pipe.
We will keep repeating the procedure until we obtain the desired effect. Epoxy is allowed to cure. Water and UV light can help it cure faster. Once cured, epoxy resin will form a new pipe inside your existing pipe. The result is a smooth, watertight, corrosion-resistant surface that will last for decades.
